This packet will make approximately 30 x 16g falafels.
This falafel mix was developed after testing 10 other Falafel mixes. We apply a special heating process that really brings out the full flavour of the ingredients.
Ingredients: chickpeas, soya beans, maize flour, rice flour, coriander, cumin, salt, bi-carb soda, turmeric, black pepper.
Method:
- Mix the contents of this packet with cold water to form a damp dough.
- Rest for 10 minutes.
- Add more water if mixture is too dry, then squeeze/roll into egg shaped rissoles before frying in hot oil 180˚C until firm.
- As a general rule add ¾ cup of water to every 1 cup of mix.
This is a versatile mixture can also be used to coat chicken, fish and to shallow fry in a good quality organic oil.
It can also be used as a crumbled topping on roasting meats to enhance flavour and seal in moisture or as a filler for extra flavour in burgers or rissoles.
To use as a stuffing : Add approximately 300 ml of water, 1 finely sliced onion, ½ cup of slivered almonds and ½ cup dried apricots or currants. Encase in Chicken Lamb or pork and cook according to meat preferences.
